Bohol Beaches Pride On Its Natural Beauty

There are numerous marvelous and wonderful Bohol beaches waiting to be explored by travelers in an island famous for one of the Philippine's natural wonder, the Chocolate Hills.

Apart from the historical places and heritage sightseeing destinations in Bohol, the island consists of several beaches that offer a heavenly vacation of a beach adventure.

Bohol is rich with a number of beaches with some yet to be developed and being patronized only by the locals. There are some Bohol beaches commercially developed and become famous for the diving sites nearby.

Below are some of the famous beaches in Bohol.

The Alona Beach

The most admired and most visited Bohol beaches the Alona beach. It is one of the most developed beaches in the island of Bohol and it is located along the southwest of Panglao. The beach is about one kilometer beach stretch lined with numerous beach and dive resorts to accommodate the considerable number of tourists visiting the area. Divers like to give Aloha beach a visit with its location closer to several popular dive sites in Bohol.

There are numerous restaurants too that cater to provide various dishes to vacationers and all Alona beach resorts have their own restaurant facility. On certain seasons it is noticeable the large numbers of sea urchins inhabiting the water. They appear about 20 to 30 meters away from the coastline that warrants warning to the swimmers.

One natural beauty of Alona beach is its abundant coral reef home embedded underneath its pristine waters just about a hundred meter off the beach. The coral life is visible just between 3 to 5 meters deep, a perfect beauty to watch even without scuba diving gears. Many scuba divers prefer to visit these areas of coral homes before going to other dive sites in Alona.

Bolod Beach

Along the southern Bohol is the Bolod Beach, which has the largest shoreline of one and a half kilometer. Visitors can rent a hut for only Php 150 throughout the day. There is an additional charge of Php 30 when you opt to use its electric outlet for radio or CDs. It is a public beach and a common getaway place for families.

There are also tents for an overnight stay at Php 350 a night that can accommodate two persons only. Visitors can use of the tables available under the tree shades or near the water. A public charcoal pit is available where anyone can grill a barbeque or cook foods.

There are two notable beach clubs at Bolod Beach namely the Blue Sky Sea Resort and Dumaluan Beach Resort. About 10 minutes from the beach is a famous BBC dive site.

Bagobo Beach

This beach has fine white sands and tall coconut trees lining the beach shores. It has a crystal clear water revealing a marvelous underwater beauty that captivates divers and snorkelers to keep coming back. By words of recognition to its beauty, more travelers and divers visit the area and this bring two hotels to open in the beach namely the Bagobo Beach Resort and Amarela Resort.

Near the beach is famous dive site, the Arco Point where there are caves teeming with various species of fish such as white eyed moray, Raggy Scorpion, butterfly, frog, and angel fish.

Danao Beach

The azure water and abundant marine life in Danao beach captivate many tourists and divers alike. The beach gain recognition for its natural underwater beauty that many tourists continue to trickle the beach constantly. This brings a number of resorts to operate on the area in order to provide a comfortable stay among the beach guests.

Some notable resorts in Danao Beach are Bita-ug Beach Resort, Bohol Sea Resort, Alumbung Resort, and Kalipayan Beach Resort. They offer quality amenities and accommodation to traveling guests in this area.

There are also diving spots close to the beach and one is the Kalipayan dive consisting of a wall dive. One can find Barracuda, Comet, Ghost Pipefish, Titan Triggerfish and Blue-finned fish.
