Cebu City is the hub of a metropolitan region often referred to as Metro Cebu. This includes the urban centers of Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Talisay and Naga.

The city has an estimated 2 million population. Statistically, Cebu has a total population of 798,809 based on the 2007 Philippine census.

Cebu city is hail as the second most profound metropolitan hub known to be the most senescent city in the Philippines.
