Coron Castaway and Gran Vista Resorts best for nature lovers

by Anna Sim

My family just came back from Coron, Palawan where we had the best ever holiday in the Philippines. Coron is sooo beautiful and our trip was made complete by staying at Gran Vista and Coron Castaway, enjoying the native motif of the cottages, spacious areas surrounded by nature, magnificent views and the best hospitality extended to us by Gigi, one of the owners. The food was delicious and generous. Accommodation rates were a bargain for the great service, beauty and comfort of our stay. It was perfect.

They arranged all our tours at very minimal service fee, while we paid the boat, van and site owners directly. It was like a package deal but without the high cost. On the first day we did the town, climbed Mt Tapyas for a wonderful sunset view and then soaked in Makinit hot spring. Second day we did what the locals call as Coron loop island hopping, visiting one beautiful place to an even more beautiful one: CYC islet, Banul beach, Barracuda lake, twin lagoon, Kayangan lake and siete pecados marine park. Third day was just spent on Castaway, just taking it easy, bonding with the family, enjoying the Robinson crusoe feeling.
