Iligan City is situated in the southern part of the Philippines in the province of Lanao Del Norte and the province's former capital. Tourism in Iligan City

People would know that when one talks about Maria Cristina Falls, they are thinking about Iligan City. There are about 20 waterfalls found in the metropolis and Maria Cristina Falls is just one of them and happened to be the city's famous landmark. This breathtaking waterfall is also the primary source of electric power for most of the city's industries and is being harnessed by the Agus VI Hydroelectric Plant. Sandoval, and Dr. Steven P.C. Fernandez, DFA are from the place also. Hannah Quijano is the SK President who represented the country in the Korea Asean Program and China Asean Youth Camp. Sports enthusiasts such as Romulo “Bong” Marata and his brother, Ric-Ric Marata are from the city as well. There are other celebrated personalities that gave a number of contributions in the history of the Philippines who actually emanated from Iligan City.
