Interesting Places In Metro Manila
Metro Manila is the Philippines' national capital region and the main tourist destination of the country.
The metropolitan becomes the main hub for commercial, education and entertainment industries of the Philippines. Located at the island of Luzon, the country's largest island, the metropolis of Manila has the largest population in the country of about 15 million.
Manila is comprised of notable cities such as the Quezon City which has the most automotive and electronic parts discount centers, Caloocan City which is the main hub of people in the Northern part of the Philippines, Pasig City with an industrial town with growing business districts and known for significant structures of rustic churches and houses during the American period and the Makati City which the country's commercial hub with the tallest buildings, sophisticated malls, and luxurious hotels are located.
Other cities comprising Metro Manila are the City of Manila, Caloocan, Pasay, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Valenzuela, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Taguig, Las Piñas and Malabon City among others.
Metro Manila's Prime Tourist Destinations
One among the favorite activities to do in Manila is shopping where you can find sophisticated and wide, towering shopping malls to small stores and boutiques around the corner streets. One of the favorite shopping districts in the Manila metropolis is Makati where the prestigious malls are located. Along the Ayala Avenue in Makati City are the commercial districts of Metro Manila.
The Intramuros in Manila is a place commonly visited by tourists. You can find inside the Fort Santiago that served as a garrison during the Spanish time. This area has now become a park with some remnants of houses that reflect the Spanish regime. These houses were transformed into museums, souvenir shops, trendy restaurants, and even dormitories. The location of Intramuros is located at the Pasig River and its wall design is significant to protect Manila from its invaders.
The recent attraction in Manila is the Manila Ocean Park which is located behind the Quirino Grand Stand. It is considered as the country's multi-million Oceanarium with state of the art facilities. The oceanarium is one with open water that displays a wide marine habitat. There are also function rooms and marine research facilities inside and restaurants as well.
One of the significant landmarks in Manila is the Malacanang Palace which is the official residence of the President of the Philippines. Some major government offices also operate in the palace. Many visit the Presidential Museum that shows significant memorabilia of the past presidents of the Philippines. The palace's architecture is also an attraction which is about 18th century old villa that the Spanish government purchased in 1825.
A significant event is celebrated in Quiapo consisting of a daylong procession in celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene. This feast itself and the Quiapo Church are very famous making the church a popular destination among tourists in the country.
For tourists to enjoy the night life in Manila there are many videoke and disco bars to hang out. If a tourist likes a trendy and cosmopolitan nightlife experience, Greenbelt in Makati is a popular place to go. Malate is also a popular nightlife destination for street party. Other wonderful places for a fun night are at the Fort and Tomas Morato and Libis in Quezon City.
Manila is the metropolis in the Philippines that never run out of amazing places to visit. You can find historical places and museums scattered along the different cities in Metro Manila accounting to the meaningful history of the Philippines. It is also teeming with great places to visit with its extensive hubs of commercial districts for shopping and nightlife.
