Palawan Bay Philippines Exceptional Beauty
Palawan Bay Natural Attractions
Considered as the Philippines last ecological frontier and one of the most popular places across the planet for tourists is the island province of Palawan.
It is the western most island province in the Philippines surrounded by 1,780 beautiful islands and the Palawan bay is where you can experience the most beautiful natural scenes in the whole world.
Aside from that, it has also a lot of natural attractions where you can enjoy from, in fact some of these attractions are declared as world's natural heritage site. The capitol of Palawan is the Puerto Princesa City, the only city in the whole province.
The province of Palawan has everything when it comes to beauty of nature, and here you can also find that diversity of magnificent bays scattered around the province. Here is a list of some beautiful and popular bays nearby Palawan bay:
* One of the most famous bays in Palawan is the Honda Bay. The bay consists of several islets with shallow reefs bordering breathtaking beaches that became the favorite swimming, snorkeling, and diving destinations for local residents and tourists.
* Located at the mid-east of the city of Puerto Princesa is the Puerto Princesa Bay. Tricycles within the city proper can take you there, where you can have leisurely walks at sunrise and catch the glorious view of the bay. The bay is also perfect for lovers, and for the whole family.
* A deep channel on the northwest coast of Puerto Princesa Tres Marias is the Ulugan bay. A cluster of three islets stand as guards at the mouth of the bay. Inside the Ulugan Bay area is the Rita Island, a very popular dive spot where mangrove forests abound in river deltas, while dense vegetation packs gently rolling hills in the distance.
* A natural port surrounded and protected almost 360º by the rugged hills of Boayan Island off the northwestern coast of Palawan is the Daplac Bay. It is in the municipality of San Vicente and considered as blue lagoon-like.
* Situated at the North Palawan and lies between Busuanga and Culion Islands where you can find one of the world's hot spot for diving is the Coron Bay. A region of outstanding beauty and wildlife and a tropical dream come true.
* El Nido is the gateway to Bacuit Bay. It is one of the main reasons for most people going to Palawan.
The Honda Bay is considered as one of Palawan's pride and it is located in Sta. Lourdes Tagbanua, Puerto Pricesa City. About 12 kilometers east of Puerto Pricesa City proper, the Sta. Lourdes wharf is located where pump boats could be hired to take you to the island of your choice. Although some islands require an entrance fee, and others are privately owned, you can still enjoy the beauty of Honda Bay because there are islands where you are free to visit. Sta. Lourdes wharf is 25 minutes away by hired jeepney or tricycle, and pump boat ride from the wharf to different islands is about 15 to 50 minutes.
The Honda Bay's islets include Cannon or Cowrie Island, Bat Island, Lu-Ii Island which is derived from the word "lulubog lilitaw" meaning floating and sinking island because it is only visible during low tide, Meara Marina Island, Starfish Island which is known for its fine white sand and crystal clear water that teems with starfish, the Snake Island, an island having a long stretch of fine white sand shaped like a snake, Pandan Island, and lastly the Señorita Island, the breeding site of fishes specifically the lapu- lapu fish.
Accommodation facilities are available for overnight stay in the islands of Meara Marina and Starfish Island only. Another popular bay in Palawan is the Puerto Princesa Bay. It is the major entry point by water access to the City of Puerto Princesa. The bayside resorts provide accommodation and dining facilities with a panoramic view of the bay.
Palawan bay is truly a region of outstanding beauty and wildlife. From there you can see the coral walls exploding with color and life and amazing limestone cliffs. Palawan is absolutely a tropical place where magic is in the air - the sea, the islands and in the bay - a tangible presence that hints adventure, mystery and beauty..
