Pasig Hotels Where Superstars Stay

Pasig City is home to the second major business district in the Philippines, the Ortigas Center. Situated in this bustling city are several malls, one of which is SM Megamall, the fifth largest mall in Asia as of 2007. Business buildings, a lot of which are call centers, also populate it. For those looking to stay here, there are various hotels available ready to cater to customers’ needs. Since Pasig hotels are in near proximity to numerous shopping and activity centers, restaurant strips, and even a big hospital, visitors could rest assured that whatever they want is only a few minutes away.

Some of these hotels have had the opportunity to host international artists and athletes. Examples are:

Discovery Suites

This establishment is more than the ordinary hotel. Besides having rooms with the usual bed or two (called a Junior Suite), Discovery Suites offer 1, 2, and 3-bedroom suites that are fully furnished just like an apartment. Suites have their own living room with sofas and side chairs, cable TV, coffeemaker, glassware, silverware, and china, telephone system, and Internet access. Some even have Ipod docks. Other services include a nanny and/or butler service, a fully-equipped business center, casual and fine-dining restaurants, children’s entertainment center, spa, swimming pool, salon, limousine and car rental. There also are eight function rooms for meetings and events with event planers available for planning and/or consultation.

The Irish boyband Westlife was a one-time guest in this hotel a few years ago.

Holiday Inn Galleria Suite

Located right beside Robinson’s Galleria Mall, this Holiday Inn offers its clients top service and facilities. Residents could access the mall through the hotel’s ground and fourth floors. Rooms are equipped with the usual necessities including cable TV, fax machine, and telephone. The rate includes complimentary buffet breakfast everyday. It also houses snack bars, restaurants, a ballroom and a multipurpose function room that could be used for meetings, presentations, and exhibits. It also has a fitness center with boxing equipment, an outdoor pool, and a spa.

This hotel has accommodated the Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, and World Wrestling Entertainment’s professional wrestlers during their respective tours in the Philippines.

Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila

Found at the corner of Ortigas Avenue and Asian Development Bank Avenue, this relatively new hotel is sandwiched between the Robinsons Galleria Mall and the Holiday Inn Galleria Suites. Its main clients are businesspeople on business trips. Amenities include a business center with Internet access and printing, faxing, and courier services. It also welcomes couples and families on holiday with its offerings of an outdoor pool, restaurants, beauty salon, and babysitting services.

Back in March 2008, the band Maroon 5 resided here for the duration of their stay and held their concert’s after party at the hotel’s chill out bar with pool tables and live music.

Other quality Pasig hotels with affordable rates include: the Linden Suites, the Richmonde Hotel, the Malayan Plaza, Astoria Plaza Hotel, and the Legend Villas. Besides hotel cars, transportation to, from, and, around the city are easy for there are always are taxis roaming around.
