In the Philippines, most people have their health insurances whether they are employed or not. The most popular health insurance in the Philippines is the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or most popularly known as the PhilHealth. Almost all classes of individuals from unemployed to overseas Filipino workers can purchase this health insurance and experience the benefits of it. In fact there is PhilHealth assistance that comes for free to unfortunate individuals – it is sponsored by the different sectors of government.

Hence, this insurance corporation definitely provides you with the health and hospital bills assistance especially if your patient is very to the point that you are selling some of your property just to have the money for medication. Possible beneficiaries of Philippine health insurance holder are the following:

Legal Spouse – the legal spouse of the insurance holder is the primary beneficiary of the insurance holder if and only if there are documents that you can present to prove that you are legally married to the person who claims to be your primary beneficiary. You have to submit authenticated documents that are required such as certificate of live birth and marriage. It is much better if both you and your spouse is a PhilHealth insurance holder since if you are employed to a certain company in the Philippines; your employee will automatically be in charge of paying your insurance contribution. 2. Children – legitimate, illegitimate, and adopted children can all be a beneficiary of the insurance holder as long as he or she acknowledges the child. But they are only subject as a beneficiary if they are below twenty one years of age, unmarried and unemployed. But if the child has a congenital disability whether it is physical, mental or other disability that can make them extremely dependent to the health insurance holder.

Most offices in the Philippines have their employees insured in the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation although some that belong to the low profile class don’t. But it is not a problem however since you can be a member of this insurance corporation as long as you can pay the quarterly contribution which is three hundred pesos. Or if you really cant afford to pay the quarterly contribution payment, then you could go to some government offices in your locality to inquire about how to avail of these so called free health insurance.

Health insurance in the Philippines should be attached with the department of health and a member of International Social Security Association, ASEAN Social Security Association, and Philippine Social Security Association. Nowadays you should be practical enough in choosing the insurance that you will avail, it is best to have the kind of insurance that can truly assist you in dealing with your health and some personal problems. The least thing that you should do is to insure your life as well as the life of your family. In choosing for the best Philippine health insurance to avail, you have to always keep in mind that the most important thing is your health, since you can not do anything if you too weak.
