Music is a major part of its entertainment. There are several styles of Music namely hip hop, traditional folk and rock. Traditional folk music provides entertainment using traditional instruments.
Traditional folk dances that are popular in Philippines entertainment are Tinikling and Singkil. Two long bamboo sticks are used to perform the traditional folk dance tinikling. The dancers would clap the two bamboo sticks together very quickly and in a rhythm, while at the same time avoiding their feet artistically from getting smashed between the bamboos. The traditional folk dance Singkil uses four long bamboos poles. This dance shows off lavishing Muslim royalty. The bamboo sticks are arranged in a 'tic-tac-toe' pattern. The dancers try to avoid all the four sticks as they clap together in the middle. Daringly, the dancers would also try to exploit all the position as well as dance the entire rotation in the middle. You can identify singkil dance by the use of the umbrellas and silk clothing. These traditional folk dances are performed in teamwork.
