Plantation Bay Resort: The Ideal Island Getaway

There is no place better to unwind than at Plantation Bay Resort.

Not only is it located at Mactan, Cebu, the site of the first Filipino triumph over foreign invaders; it also is an island surrounded by other larger ones, thus insulating it from the mood swings of the Philippine Sea.

The accommodations and other facilities are housed within colonial style plantation mansions and furnished with elegant, high-grade wooden furniture. An overall rustic feel runs throughout the resort, transporting guests to a simpler period when time passed a little more slowly.

Pampering and relaxation is the foremost service at Plantation Bay Resort. Its in-house spa, Mogambo Springs, has received international acclaim due to its diverse treatment offerings and its elegant ambience that enhances clients’ feeling of tranquility. The spa facilities include hot pools with Jacuzzi jets, dry sauna and steam room, waterfall massage, and a thalassic pool. Guests could also avail of the Loving Life Program, a spa package inclusive of lodgings in a Spa Indulgence Room, airport transfers, delicious balanced meals, treatments and outdoor activities, and colon cleansing. This program can be undergone for four or seven days and is guaranteed to leave participants feeling light and purified.

One of the perks of travel is getting to taste interesting food. International and/or local cuisine are served at all four restaurants within the resort: Palmero is an informal Italian restaurant in a country courtyard setting; Kilmanjaro Kafe is a 24-hour coffee shop that serves breakfast buffet with different themes for each day of the week; Fiji serves Japanese, Korean, and other Asian dishes at the hotel’s beachfront; and Savannah Grill prides itself on its 5-star take on mouthwatering fast food dishes. Every craving would be satisfied with this diverse array of edibles.

Working off the meals is easy with the resort’s various activities. Guests have the privilege of renting a bike for an hour each day and riding it around the 11-hectare estate. Water activities are also abundant: scuba diving, jet skiing, kayaking, riding banana boats, and parasailing are only some of them. Parents need not worry because there also are lots of activities for kids. The Children’s Center organizes different activities each day that are overlooked by responsible staff members. Beach games like sandcastle building and boat racing are also held. Family quality time could also be spent fishing and face and t-shirt painting. Not even the liveliest kids could get bored with all these things to do.

At the end of the day, patrons could retire to their hotel rooms with a terrace or balcony that looks out to beautiful island scenery. Units with less than magnificent views are very limited. These have lower prices and are marked as such on the catalogue. All of the accommodations have complimentary pastry baskets, fresh bottles of drinking water, a mini bar, coffee and tea making kits, and cable TV. This is luxury packed in a single, spacious room.

Indeed, the ultimate recreational experience could only be had at the Plantation Bay Resort.
