Outdoor Dining And Shopping At Tiendesitas

Tiendesitas which means a collection of little stores is located along C5 Road not very far from Eastwood City in Libis.

It is a gated shopping complex comprised of different stalls which sell items ranging from pets, clothes, antiques, novelty items, and native products to food. The complex is open from 12nn to 12mn, which is very convenient to those from the working class.

The façade of the “villages” mimics the bahay-kubo or the traditional houses found in the Philippines.

Tiendesitas Village complex

Once you enter the village complex, you would feel as if you were transported back in time. The complex has an old world feel to it with the modern comforts of the new malls.

If you’re the type who loves pets, visit the “pet village.” You can buy pets there or if you have one, you can bring them to the veterinary clinic to have them checked or groomed. Are you the type who is more into fashion? There’s a “village” for you too! Go behind the stage, turn right and you will find the “fashion village.” It’s the place where you can find quality fashion items at an affordable price. If you like organic soaps, scented oils, massage oils, aroma therapy oils, visit the “Novelties Village” and find the scent which would appeal to your senses.

Do you have a green thumb? Take a look at the “Garden Village” to find potted herbs and flowering plants for your garden. There is also a place for collectors; the “Antiques Village” is a place to find some rare hand carved wood items.
After all the walking and shopping, you will need some rest and of course something to eat. All you have to do is walk back towards the stage area and there you will find the “Food Village.”

Food Village

The “Food Village” offers mostly Filipino food. It’s like one big cook out! Go to the different stalls and look for the dish which would satisfy your hunger and your palate.

It’s a smorgasbord of choices. The dishes come from different regions of the Philippines. If you’re adventurous, don’t hesitate deviating from your usual barbeque and grilled fish.

Located in the same area as the food village is the stage, where live performers entertain shoppers everyday of the week.

It’s so great to relax and be entertained during dinner time with good food and good music.

And on Sundays, a cultural dance group showcases traditional Folk dances of the Philippines.

How to get to this fascinating collection of “villages”?

* By jeepneys plying the Cubao-Rosario route which would pass along C5 Road.
* By bus which will stop a short distance away from the gate of the complex.
* By cab (from Eastwood City, it costs about Php 60.00 (Sixty pesos) and from Cubao Php 80.00 (eighty pesos).

* Ark Avilon Zoo – an indoor zoo shaped like an Ark. It is also managed by the same people who manage the Avilon Zoo in Montalban, Rizal.
